Dear Zumba friends,
I want to thank all of you for your incredible support for me and my classes.
I just love all the positive, fun energy that everyone brings to my classes!
To all the 'Zumbaholics' at the Mukilteo YMCA---thank you all for your support and
your help especially after I injured my knee. I am so grateful and so blessed to
be surrounded such wonderful people. I love that we are still going strong averaging
110+ most nights!!
To all the members of my Edmonds class, Silver Firs class and Butterfly Life class-
I also appreciate your continual support and the energy you bring to the classes.
Although we only get to meet once a week, I always look forward to seeing you all!!
Keep rockin'!!
As you may have noticed, I have added a CHAT feature on this website for all of my
Zumba friends. I am hoping it will give us all an opportunity to 'chat' with each
other since we often don't get the chance to do so before/after class. I think it'll
be another wonderful way to connect with each other, don't you? I'm already
registered; my nickname is Zumbaspice. Try it out and let me know what you think.
I'm looking forward to chatting with you soon.

ZUMBA TIPS:
- Show up early to class especially if you have any questions about certain dance moves or how to adapt certain moves for particular injuries or just to guarantee a good spot to dance. Also a good time to chat with me!
- Warm up is very important!! Showing up to class late and not taking time to warm up may cause injuries. Cool down is just as important!! So please do stay to the end of class!
- Make sure to bring water! We work up a good sweat in class and it is important to stay hydrated.
- Shoes & workout clothes please!! Proper shoes for Zumba would be cross-trainers or fitness dance shoes. They provide excellent support for all the moves we do in Zumba and help prevent injuries. Believe it or not, I've had people try to do the class barefoot, with sandals or flip flops or Keds (not enough support)!! I also recommend dressing in comfortable workout clothing so as to be able to move freely and absorb sweat. Skirts, especially tight, jean (yes, have had this in class too) are not recommended because it restricts your movements.
- If you're new to Zumba, please do come and introduce yourself to me. With so many people coming to class, it is sometimes difficult for me to determine who is new to Zumba or not (especially if you hide in the back!). I recommend being closer to the front of the class if you are new. That way, you are able to see the moves better. Don't worry... everyone is too busy watching me so don't be self-conscious about not getting the moves right the first few times around!
- Last but not least... HAVE FUN!!
FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY: IF YOU HAVE INJURIES OR HEALTH CONCERNS, MAKE SURE THAT YOUR ZUMBA INSTRUCTOR HAS THE PROPER CERTIFICATIONS TO TEACH A GROUP EXERCISE CLASS AND IS QUALIFIED TO ADDRESS YOUR SPECIFIC ISSUES. TO BE A ZUMBA INSTRUCTOR, A GROUP EXERCISE CERTIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED BUT HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS, PLEASE EMAIL ME. BE SAFE SO YOU CAN DANCE LONGER!!!
